Catching My Breath

Has it seriously been almost 3 weeks since I have posted?  No way!  Seems more like 3 days.  We've had so much going on.

We celebrated Memorial Day with some great friends and family. About 33 people were here to swim and cookout. I absolutely love having that many people over at one time! My motto is "The more the merrier!" Of course, I don't take lightly why we celebrate Memorial Day.  So many people have sacrificed so we may enjoy the freedom we have today.  On Sunday, our church honored each branch of the military. I got choked up just thinking of those who have served. And then I started thinking of my dad who served in the Army when he was young.  Gosh how I still miss him everyday!

Love this pouty girl who is our neighbor.

One of the sweetest families I know!

These sisters are so precious!

Pumpkin LOVES the water!

How sweet is this!  Little Hannah is 2 months younger than Pumpkin.
This is her with her grandmother.

That evening I went to help with our VBS decorations.  Several people at our church have put in numerous hours on Monday nights to get decorations ready for VBS.  We have the greatest Children's Minister ever!  She organizes the decorations and ask people to come help prepare them for weeks in advance. This allows people who might not be able to teach to help out in a big way!! I have not been able to go this year due to Bubba's ballgames always being on Mondays.  My main responsibility in VBS is assisting our Children's
Minister.  I take care of organizing registration, daily attendance records and other administrative task. I absolutely LOVE VBS!!! It is absolutely exhausting, but also one of the most fun and rewarding weeks ever!

Of course, this was Pumpkin's first VBS!  We have the most amazing nursery workers.  They even made crafts for the babies!  Our church provides classes for Babies- 3 year olds for VBS workers.  The babies and toddler workers are not obligated at all to do crafts, etc but they did it anyway.  And melt my heart, they did things using their footprints!!

Pumpkin and Bubba ready for the VBS parade!

I'm looking forward to some down time, with no appointments, etc. this week.  Hopefully I can catch up on some household things and get to a couple of sewing project I have planned.

We've also hit some milestones around here, but I'm saving that for my next post, so stay tuned. I promise it will be soon!
