Road Trip!

I am trying desperately to get my posts up to date.  As I type this I am sitting in a hotel room about 1000 miles from home. Our little guy is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday - August 27th in Utah. We left home Tuesday afternoon and expect to arrive in Utah on Friday.  This will give us a few days to settle in and hopefully relax.  Because of his heart condition we will most likely be gone for 3-4 weeks.

So... to catch you up on our travels....

So J, Pumpkin, my mom and I struck out Tuesday afternoon for Tupelo, MS.  Wednesday morning we got up and decided to take a little time and visit Elvis's birthplace as it was just a couple of miles down the road.

Our journey led us on into St. Louis - we had marginally planned on bypassing it somewhat but in the end decided that we should take the time to visit the St. Louis Arch. Even though it added an extra hour to our trip I am so glad we went.

We stopped tonight in Independence, Missouri. Overall Pumpkin has done so well with the travelling. Thankfully she is to the point that she really enjoys watching videos. I honestly have been dreading the trip.  I imagined that it would be way harder on Pumpkin than it has been thus far.  But also I left a huge part of my heart at home... the 6'3" part - Bubba.  I've never really been the sappy one who couldn't spend the night away from her kids, but this has been different.  It has torn me to pieces to leave him.  I imagine its mostly adoption hormones, lol.  Since J's dad lives with us, its no big deal to leave him behind.  I guess the length of our stay and the uncertainty of when we would be home just got to me.  I love that kid to death and seriously miss him already.  I almost have to laugh because we probably have talked to him just as much as if we were at home.  I think he misses us too.. whether he will admit it or not.

Well we have many more miles to cover so I will sign off here...stay tuned!!
