Wow! Over a year has passed since I posted anything. Life happens at warp speed these days and our family has grown again during the past year. ( More on that another day.)
This morning as I prepared to head to my office, I began to think about how ready I was to put said office back in order. When I get ready to do something, I want it done yesterday. For about 3 weeks, I have been displaced as my office has been repainted and carpeted and getting a new desk put together. There have been delays upon delays. I am ready to for everything to be in its place.
As I pondered what lay ahead for me today ( getting my desk assembled), I was gently reminded of how my timetable isn't always best. I thought back to our waiting process before Pumpkin was born. It was 5 years ago and I was beyond frustrated. The crazy bureaucracy was holding us up. They had a new procedure and absolutely didn't have a plan of action in place for what we needed. Long story short - we were delayed by about 2 months in being home study approved.
During that time, I was certain that I was missing out on my baby. If only they had their act together, I would certainly have my baby by now. Can I just be honest? I was dead wrong. None of it caught my Heavenly Father by surprise. In fact, He orchestrated it all. Why? Because it wasn't time. Most importantly, it wasn't His time.
This morning I also thought of several people who are waiting to adopt, some who are waiting on a job, or disappointed about a job they didn't get, etc. And then the song "While I Am Waiting" came to mind. The words, "While I am waiting, I will trust you." Gosh that's so much easier said than done. Trust me, I know. I tried to "fix it" myself. So if you find yourself waiting on something, know this... every delay is a divine appointment, despite the amount of disappointment or frustration it brings. He is in control of it all.
