I have been crazy busy with my monogramming business and will tie up all those loose ends today. Not one present is wrapped yet, but Bubba is going to be put on that job today as well.
What have I been doing other than monogramming? Well, lets see... December held the following for us:
Hosting our Sunday School Christmas party
A dear friend loosing her mom
A Wedding
J and Bubba's Birthday
Our 18th Anniversary
and being a part of the most amazing 3 day live drama, better known as Walk thru Bethlehem hosted by our church!
We have been so excited about this project, but none of us anticipated how wonderful it would be. It was a scripted, guided tour through the town of Bethlehem on that very first Christmas night. The amount of work that went into this venture was astronomical. Months of construction, planning, advertising, learning lines, gathering supplies, etc. has been poured into this. We expected good turn outs but we were overwhelmed. People literally waited 3 hours or more to go through and said it was well worth it. Approximately 4,000 people came through in 3 nights. On Friday and Saturday we had to turn people away. We literally didn't want to leave, and on Sunday night we decided that as long as people would come we would stay. We started at 4 pm and got finished about midnight. (Our original schedule was 5-9) God showed up in a mighty way and blessed us all! We can't wait till next year!
I was a host for WTB. The host called the groups back and gave them a bit of history and introduced them to their Guide who was in full character as they led them through the city and interacted with the locals. It was such a joy and I didn't want to leave each night!
Here are just a few scenes:
The Basket weaver shop
We had lots of live animals. Goats, sheep, cows, chickens, and even a camel!
Blacksmith shop - this is where Bubba was mostly as a blacksmith apprentice
The Tanner. This is one of my favorite pictures!
The guards were intimidating!
Our pastor and wife and AG as baby Jesus. They are our sweet neighbors as well.
This picture isn't great, but it is Bubba as the angel! I didn't get to see him as he was just the "relief angel" so the others could have a break, but I heard he did a great job.
