Our Adoption Story

So I've been lost for quite a while I guess, but I am so excited to be posting today.  Kelly is hosting adoption stories today. Be Still My Heart.  Of course many of you already know or have read our adoption story from this post. (Sorry I'm a little too lazy to re post the entire story.)

So our long story short is this....

High School Sweethearts.

Two years of infertility and God gave us this handsome (biological) son.

Thirteen years later through more infertility and pregnancy loss, God began to speak to us about adoption. And He answered our prayers with the gift of this precious little girl through ADOPTION!

And now she has grown up quite a bit, much to my dismay!

We have no doubt that she was made for us.  Before the foundation of time, our Father saw fit to write our story and we are grateful for every chapter, even the difficult ones.  For without them, our story would be different.

And here are my two precious gifts from God, brought to us in two totally different ways! Their love for each other is precious.  Nothing melts my heart more to see my 6'2" teenager love all over my toddler.  His heart is absolutely precious.  And she absolutely adores him.

Of course you know by now, (or would assume) that adoption is very near and dear to my heart. God answered our prayers and filled a huge longing in our heart for more children.  However, much more importantly, He changed our hearts through the process.  We started out with a selfish desire for a child and came out with a broken heart for orphans.  James 1:27 give a clear command to the church about orphan care.  For some that simply means praying for or supporting adoptive families. For others, like us, that means being the hands and feet of Jesus to the least of these.  So many times I have heard comments like "Thank God for people like you.", as if it were a burden. Quite contrary my friend.  Naturally parenting (whether bio or adopted) can be a challenge, and adoption does require sacrifice sometimes, but its pretty simple folks.  I am simply loving and caring for a child that was specifically designed for me by my Heavenly Father!

And just in case you haven't been here before... this is what we are working on now.....
