I knew immediately I shouldn't be surprised. This song has touched me since the very first time we sang it. At the time I was somewhat discouraged as we were in the adoption process for the first time. We encountered several hurdles along the way, but as we sang this song, I was encouraged that our Heavenly Father was in control of all things and I would soon be able to look back and see how he had worked in our lives.
A few months later, as we were presenting to birth moms, I had grown weary again. That Sunday Morning as we sang a complete peace flooded my soul and I knew it wouldn't be too much longer till we would be matched; little did I realize that within hours our Pumpkin would enter the world. Three days later she was in our arms.
We've sung it since little man has arrived as well, and how can I not be reminded of how mightily He worked and healed our little man's heart?!
Well, we've been praying for the past 6 months that the judge in UT would not make us return for our finalization hearing. ( It is common for finalization to occur by phone or have the agency represent you.) The judge handling our case wouldn't make a definate decision until all paperwork and post placement requirements had been met. The last thing we wanted to do was have to travel back.. Sorry, but the month out there just about did us in, plus it would just be more expense. We've anxiously been awaiting the verdict and last Monday I got an email with our answer...
You ready?
We are NOT required to travel back. I was shocked and elated. I don't know why I continue to be surprised by His faithfulness. Our Father cares about every little detail of our life. And so again, His timing was absolutely perfect in reminding me of such. This song will forever take me back to these moments ( and so many more) where I am aware of just how faithful he remains.
We will remember
We will remember
We will remember the works of your hands
And we will stop
And give you praise
For great is thy faithfulness!
