Just as I promised, Hayden and I slept in on Thursday and Friday! It was much welcomed rest. Thursday was a very uneventful day. After lunch with Jimmy, Hayden did his school work. When Jimmy returned from his seminar, we went to supper and returned. Hayden was anxious to hit the indoor pool. He and Jimmy swam for a couple of hours, while I watched a movie in the room.
This afternoon, when Jimmy completed his meetings, we headed to the Valley Forge National Park. It was interesting to see the replicas of the cabins that the soldiers inhabited. We got to go inside Washington's Headquarters. We also spotted alot of deer on the trail. It was a nice ride, which we enjoyed, but not nearly as much as Mt. Vernon. During this time of year, there is not alot of activities, re-enactments, etc, except on the weekend.
Jimmy picked up supper from Maggiano's (one of his favorites) and we ate in our room and packed preparing for our trip home.
We will travel to Florence, SC to stay with Daniel and Lori Dulaney ( Grace Anne and Drew, too). We are looking forward to catching up with them and attending their church on Sunday. Then it will be back to Dothan! We are ready for normalcy! I don't think I will complain about Dothan traffic for a very long time! I am also ready for some Southern Hospitality. I had to go to Target while staying in VA. I checked out without the cashier saying one word to me. I mean she didn't even tell me how much my total was! No hello, "your change is", no Thank you, have a good night, nothing! That kind of stuff is my pet peeve ( along with complaining about your job in front of a customer). I was brought up (in my dad's grocery store) that you served your customer with respect. After all, if it weren't for them, your job was not necessary. Ok, I will leave my soapbox for now.
For all of you in Dothan, we can't wait to see you! It is fun to travel, but it is always good to get home!
