Spring Fun

Friday and Saturday provided perfect springtime weather and afforded us some outdoor fun.

On Friday, we went to the Art Museum for the annual spring break ART ROCKS. We joined some friends there and had fun with sun prints, sidewalk chalk, free style art, and painting. I forgot my camera, so I have no pictures of the actual day, but I am going to post a picture of Hayden's art, which he entitled "Lines of Expression".

Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch with our friends at the new, improved, but very small Mexican Connection. (Most of you know that this is our very favorite restaurant. They have relocated to a much nicer building, but it is less than half the size; thus large groups usually have to wait for quite a while.)

On Saturday, four of the 30-something Sunday School classes held an Easter picnic. The weather was gorgeous! The guys grilled us up some burgers and hot dogs, while the women visited. There were 75-100 people there. The kids had a wonderful time on the playground and just playing in general. Hayden was mostly involved in games of tackle football. After we ate the kids had an egg hunt. Now, we took our eggs filled with candy and an Easter basket, but when the time came for the hunt; guess who was just too macho for that.....

Here are some pictures of the picnic and egg hunt.

Ready to hunt eggs

When we got home, Jimmy said he didn't feel good and by midnight he was running a fever. Despite feeling bad, he got up Sunday morning and went to the 8:00 a.m. service to make sure that someone was there to run the PowerPoint. He stayed and taught Sunday School and then returned home and hit the sack. It was sort of a bummer not to have him with us on Easter.

Easter Services were wonderful. We have so much to celebrate. As we sang songs about our Savior's sacrifice for us, I could hardly hold back the tears. Yet we can rejoice, because He is Alive!

We ate lunch at my mom's. She set up a scavenger hunt for the kids to find their Easter present from her. They have so much fun with this! It was fun to listen to Lilly read the clues, because last year she wasn't able to read much of the notes. We also took some pictures of the all dressed in their Easter frocks. They couldn't wait to shed them, so we had to act fast.

Sisters - Can't you tell? Just look at us- don't you think we are twins?

How pretty!

The scavengar hunt is on!

Tonight we officially began Baseball season. The temperature was much cooler yesterday and today and very windy. We sat there for 2 1/2 hours bundled up in jackets, gloves, scarves and blankets. Hayden played very well and scored 2 of our 5 points. He actually put the 1st point on the board! Nonetheless, we lost 9-5. We will play again on Thursday, but the weather is supposed to be much warmer. I did not take pictures, so you will have to wait on that one!
