Downtown Disney

As I said earlier, we had a reservation for the Rainforest Cafe - Downtown Disney last night. We arrived about 1 1/2 hr early. We shopped around for a while before heading to eat. At Pooh's Corner, there is a great set-up for taking pics with Pooh, Tigger, etc. I asked Hayden to sit down and let me take his pic. You can imagine his excitement. He wouldn't do it. So the rest of us did. I told him if he didn't do it I would take his Tampa Bay hat away from him, so reluctantly he agreed. You can see in the picture how happy he is about it!

At the Team Disney store, he was dying for a Tampa Bay jersey - Cadillac ($80) or a helmet ($115). He didn't have enough money for either and we weren't forking it over. After dinner we went back over there again. When it was time to go, he was dying to buy something. We promised we would come back on Sunday as we head home and advised him to wait in case he found something else at the parks that he wanted more. He poor-mouthed about not having enough money thinking we would help out.

Jimmy & I headed to Wal-Mart for a couple of things after we returned to our hotel room. J suggested we walk through the men's dept just to see if they had any Tampa Bay shirts. We found some and decided on a T-shirt and guess what... after walking around several racks we found a Cadillac jersey for $25! We got them both - our treat. He was very excited to get them and we used it as a lesson on being patient and waiting.

Let me throw in a Disney tip here. Check out your local Wal-mart and Target for souvenir shopping. Both stores have a dedicated Disney area and items are much cheaper. Of course they are not the same items as on Disney property but still very worth checking out! We have done this on all our trips.

Back to the Rainforest Cafe... As usual it was fantastic. The best part of all is they serve Sweet Tea! That alone was worth at least $10! I haven't had one since Friday! We had steak an shrimp, a welcome relief from sandwiches and pizza.

I shopped at the Disney Christmas store after dinner. I try to buy an ornament for our tree from every vacation spot. We already have one Disney ornament, but I can't help myself, so I got another. I got sliver Mickey Ears engraved with 2008 on it. I also got Hayden a set of sports ornaments complete with Mickey Ears as well. It won't be too long till we get to put them on the Tree!

Oh yeah, as you will see we had some fun trying on hats too! You can see how good Jimmy looks in dreadlocks! While we were taking this picture, a lady stood right beside us and just laughed and laughed at him!
