God's Timing

I have been reminded this week of a song that our choir sings "Trust His Heart".  It has always held a special place in my heart because I could relate to the lyrics during almost every season in our life.

All things work for our good
though sometimes we can't see how they could
struggles that break our hearts in two
sometimes blinds us to the truth

Our Father knows what's best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim, and you just can't see Him
Remember you're never alone

He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hands
So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him

We see the present clearly
But He sees the first and the last
And like a tapestry He's weaving you and me to someday be just like Him

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand trust His heart

I have mentioned before that we had a rental home that we needed to sell.  We have owned this house for about 11 years and tried to sell it after we moved out of it about 9 years ago.  We were so discouraged that it didn't sell.  Then a friend was moving back to our area and needed to rent a house, so we rented it to them until last spring.  We put it back on the market last June. Discouragement appeared again when a contract on it fell through around Christmas.  I will admit I have been very anxious because we desperately needed it to sell to help with adoption expenses.  Well we sold it this week!  God knows best, even when we doubt Him.  If that house had sold 9 years ago, that money would have been gone by now.  He knew exactly what we needed and when we needed it! I can see his hand all over the entire adoption process and I am amazed!

Last week we had our second home visit.  I honestly got all worked up about it a couple of days before and as it turned out, it wasn't that big of a deal.  She interviewed J and I individually and asked us several questions.  She also talked to H and J's dad together for a little while. We are still waiting on final approval on J's and his dad's fingerprints and then she will be ready to write up our home study. I am still working on all the pictures etc for our profile that will be shown to our potential birth moms.   Hopefully, I will be able to submit it within a week.  Our goal is to have the profile ready when the home study approval comes in.  I can't wait!

God is awesome. We so want Him to hurry up a lot of the time, but we just have to keep our focus on His sovereignty...which is NEVER wrong!!
