Road Block

Yesterday we hit a road block with the adoption.  J's dad's fingerprints were not readable.  The company who processes them for DHR told us that DHR would just do a name search for his clearance.  We contacted our social worker to ask if we should contact DHR or if she should do it.  She called me back almost immediately.  Upon her inquiry, she found out that his name would automatically go on a name search list.  However..... in Febuary they changed their procedures and no protocol was written on how to handle the name searches anymore.  So since Febuary, no one on that list has been processed.  They are litterally in limbo.  What is worse is they couldn't tell us if they were even working on the problem, much less close to resolving it!  So we decided to just check and see if he could be reprinted.  We called the outsourced company and were told that DHR would not allow us to send another set of prints.  How crazy is that?

I contacted them via email last night and did get a response, vague as it was.  Basically they said they were meeting at the first of next week and hoped to get some answers.  They haven't heard the last of me and I don't intend to just sit back and wait.  I may not get anything accomplished but I will certainly fight for a resolution.   I wonder just how many names are on that list and how many of those don't even realize that nothing is being processed?  I am also contacting our state legislators regarding this situation as well.  Very soon I am sure the mention of my name will cause frequent sighs, rolling of the eyes and "its that lady AGAIN!" from DHR workers, but I intend to keep on until I get a satisfactory result!

Please keep us in our prayers.  This is so very frustrating to us.  We are so close to being ready to have our profile presented to birth moms but this is standing in our way.

Praying for you! Just remember sometimes those bumps in the road are little signs that God uses to say slow down and let Him get do His great work. He already knows who you little angel is and His timing is PERFECT! I pray that you don't get discouraged, but encouraged during this amazing journey that God has called you on! Love you!!!
