Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Well at least that's how it felt.  Nothing particularly bad happened today. I sent an e-mail to DHR to inquire if we had any update on our status.  They replied that I should contact the company in VA.

WHAT?!? ( enter the emotional roller-coaster!)

I replied to her to question this because my understanding was that it was with the state bureau of investigation. I did not receive a reply today. I fought back my emotions all afternoon as I had a lot to do in order to prepare for a tea party at my house tomorrow.  Mom came over and we made some cookies and other preparations for the party.  I tried to stay focused on what was going on.  J came home shortly after she left and he sensed that something was bothering me.  When he asked, I just gushed.  Poor guy!  He thought something had happened.

Later tonight, I decided to pull out a journal I started two years ago when we first had a possible adoption situation come up.Obviously that situation never came to fruition.  It was very encouraging to me to read some of the detail I had forgotten.  I thought I would share one with you. I was hesitant to tell many people what was going on, but I did share with about 5 people in the beginning.

... "I told Debra about the adoption today.  She shared with me that if this doesn't work out, may God is preparing us for something else."

... (discussing with my mom reasons to keep this journal of events)... 1. - To have an accurate account of events, if we do get the baby. and 2. If it doesn't work out, I still don't want to miss God in all of this.  I am sure He is working through this in some way.  Till then we will have to trust in Him.

I am so glad that God impressed on me to pull out this journal tonight.  I keep it tucked away and rarely think of it.  He used my own words to encourage me.

Trusting in Him.....

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
