HGTV Ready

I seriously feel like I could be on an HGTV show. We have been working on all these projects for about 4 weekends in a row. Here is a snippet of the Living Room before and after.

Same story here. In 93, I painted the top of the paneling off white, put up a very trendy paisley wallpaper complete with chair rail and baseboards painted to match the pinkish burgandy color. What was I thinking?

In 2000, we painted over it all in 2 shades of yellow. Light on the top and a little brighter on the bottom with the trim in white. Much better except over time the wallpaper that we painted over began to rip where the paneling seams were underneath, thus creating a "crack" in the wall. The quickest fix we could think of was cover it with beadboard paneling. And I must admit that I am very happy with the results. This picture was before the final coat of white, but it gives you an idea.

I also need to take the time to praise my husband for all his handywork. If you know him very well, you realize quick he's a techie not a handyman. I always give him a hard time and tell him he considers changing the light bulb a home improvement project. In my opinion he has done very well with it all. We both love watching HGTV and are greatly enjoying seeing this transformation!
