Do you ever look back at old pictures of yourself and laughed thinking "How could I have thought that looked good?" I do quite often.
In the process of cleaning out J's parents property, we concluded that some updating was necessary. Or should I say I concluded and finally convinced J ? Anyway, the verdict was that the kitchen need a complete overhaul. This was the kitchen in the house in which we lived in on 2 different occassions. Thus it had my mark upon its decor.

A little history of the kitchen....We first lived here when we got married- 1993. At that time we painted the laminate cabinets white and put the lovely blue and white checkered floor in and added blue countertops to set it off. What was I thinking? Now before you think that it not too bad, that's not all. I put some lovely wallpaper in it at that time. You can see a hint of it here with lovely hearts and baskets. I promise you it had a bunny border that I did not use! What was I thinking? As you can also see in this picture the original kitchen was dark paneling - yuck! When we moved back to this house around 2000 I painted over the wallpaper in yellow. Helped some but again - What was I thinking?

You will be happy to know that the kitchen now has been refreshed with beadboard paneling painted kakhi. I don't have a picture of it right now, but lets just say it looks 100 times better. How many years do you think it will be before someone says "What were they thinking?"
It is still a work in progress. We have purchased cabinets, but have not yet installed them. I will post the "after" pictures when we are done.
