For starters let me say, I have been blessed througout my life with some wonderful friends. Some are a part of my daily life, Some were for a season, but I have deep roots with several friends and although we may not communicate regularly, we do keep in touch. Some are here in town and we bump into each other from time to time. Others live scattered about but either way we share a friendship that picks up where it left off.
This week we were able to re-connect with two such friends.
Chuck, J's best friend from high school now lives near Atlanta. He and Kim have probably been married around 9 years. Although we always send Christmas cards, I just met Kim about 18 months ago and we instantly bonded. It's just as if we have known each other our entire lives. Their family was in town for a visit this week and we got to see them 3 times! They joined us for church on Sunday and then we headed out to lunch with a large group of mutual friends. Then on Tuesday, Chuck's mom hosted us for supper and a dip in her pool. We had a blast! This afternoon, Chuck called and we decided to meet for ice cream. Afterward, they came to our house to visit. On previous visits, they have been here for a shorter time so we only got to eat out and spend a few hours together so it was great to spend more time together!

Growing up I had two close friends, Kara and Pam. I don't remember not knowing them since we were thrown together at birth in the Church Nursery! Kara and I talk almost daily and our boys are best buds. Pam lives in B'ham and we mainly keep in touch through Christmas Cards. She made an impromtu visit to town to visit her family and we found out through the modern technology of Facebook. So we were able to meet up today. It was great to see her and her boys. It brought back lots of memories. Hard to believe we are all grown up with our own families! Scary really! Especially if you knew how mean we were to each other sometimes!
