Whirlwinds and Roller Coasters

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week! My schedule has been packed, or so it seems. Wednesday night, we had our Valentine Banquet at church with Dennis Swanberg as our guest speaker. It was great. I laughed till I hurt. If you have never heard him, you need to. I think this guy has been hiding out in our home and van, listening to our conversations!

Thursday, I had my check up with my ob/gyn, and just as I suspected with one difference. I thought he was going to give me a few options. He came in and talked a little and basically said my only choice was a hysterectomy. We will schedule it after my blood work and a biopsy report come back. Am I prepared for this, is the question I get most often. Honestly I answer that "yes and no". I handled it very well today, but over the weekend I was very emotional about it. Laney and I discussed it a lot over the weekend, as he has also recommend that she have one too. Intellectually I know its the best thing to do. And to never ever worry about that monthly problem....aaaahhhhhhhhh Heaven! However, my heart is broken in half. The finality of it all is overwhelming. I know that the chances of us ever having another biological child are slim to none, but I knew that a miracle could happen. Now I know that I will never ever experience another pregnancy. I adored being pregnant with Hayden. It was so easy. I keep reminding myself that the second might not have been so great. Overall, I am completely at peace with it, but I believe that its natural to be emotional. I'm sure the next couple of months will be somewhat of an emotional roller coaster. Of course, as my doctor told me, we can't run the risk of this ever happening to me again. Most importantly, even though I don't understand it, I know that this is God's plan for me. Its part of "my story". May He use it for His glory.

On to a happier note, Thursday night our ladies at church hosted our first "Tables of Love" event. The only way I know how to describe it is absolutely amazing. We had 29 tables that were each so unique and beautiful. I was privileged to host a table and it was so fun. We had awesome worship music and an incredible speaker. As we walked around and looked at each table, I just thought "wow"! Our husbands were asked to serve our table. J did an amazing job waiting on us! He even helped me get my table set up Wed night. Thank you J, for always supporting me no matter what I'm doing.

Here's some pictures of the event:
