What We've Been Up To

The past week has been extremely busy.  Every year, our church host a father/daughter and mother/son banquet.  Well since I am over the G. A. group ( girls grades 1-6), this falls under my responsibility.  This year we went with a 50's theme and it was loads of fun.  The girls banquet was last Thursday and the boys was on Monday.  Poodle skirts and bobby socks were abundant.  The girls were precious!

Since I attended both the banquets, I decided to invest in a poodle skirt myself.  Hayden was less than thrilled over that.  He missed seeing me in it for the girls banquet, so when I got dressed for his, he began inquiring who's skirt I was wearing.  I told him it was mine and then he proceeded to ask if I made it.  No, I bought it, I explained.  "Mom, NEVER, EVER wear that again, anywhere!!!"  He was mortified!  We really had a great time though and I think once he saw everyone else dressed up he was more relaxed about it.

I am more than ready to have my surgery, which is just a week and and half away.  I am so ready to be done with it and feel normal again.  Well, as normal as I can be, LOL! Laney has hers this week, so I've told her she's the guinea pig, so she can let me know all about it.

We went to a local consignment sale Friday night and I got several gowns, onsies, sleepers, and outfits.  It was so much fun!  I have a small collection of pink things now! I know I am getting ahead of myself, but hopefully by the next time these sales come around we will have her at home! Our first home visit by the social worker is this week!

And my favorite find is this onsie:

We have a name picked out, but I'm not going to share it here just yet, but when I looked up the meaning is said "Ruler of the Household!" So I thought this was fitting cause I'm sure she will rule the house!
