The exterior of the house is almost complete! There are two columns to be added to the front porch and just a little siding and trim to be compeleted on the front! I am estatic over the way it turned out. J says that's a good thing, because it would be too late, if I didn't like it. Everybody has different taste, so you may not care for it, and that is ok! If we were all alike, what a boring world this would be.
We also decided to go ahead with a pool. Construction began on it Tuesday and they poured some concrete today. It should be done in about 5 weeks. I am looking forward to relaxing in it for sure!
I have been painting scraps of sheetrock with some of the colors I am considering for the house as well as staining wood samples for cabinetry. Whew, I will be glad when all these decisions are made. It is almost like a full time job. I have always heard people say " I just can't do ( fill in the blank) right now, we are building a house." And I thought.. "YOU aren't building it...what's the big deal?" Well maybe not physically, but you are calling the shots and making the decisions. Some biggies (at least to me) this week concerned our mantle and fireplace surround. Still working on a little bit of that, but making some progress.
On other news, H will be getting his top braces put on Monday morning. I can't believe he is old enough for that! They put spacers in this week, and the bottom braces will come in a few months. He has also started taking pitching and batting lessons, which are wearing him out. The coach says he definately has potential, but needs more strength. He is basically "out of shape" and needs to loosen up his body. Now that was no surprise to me, but I wanted to laugh my head off when they told him to drop and do push ups. I knew that his rear was going to be in the air, and I was right. Well, guess what... we just added push-ups, sit-ups, etc to our daily schedule!
On a good note, my hand is much better! Still a little stiff and don't have 100% grasp using it but I'm not complaining!
