A Special Day

December 14th is a special day at our house! Why?  Because both of these guys celebrated their birthday today!

That's right!  They both have the same birthday.  What makes it extra special ( and bittersweet ) is that my father also shared the birthday with them.  We miss him like crazy and wish he was still here to celebrate with us.  He was crazy about H and loved the fact that he was born on his birthday!  ( He wasn't so crazy about J sharing his birthday when we started dating, LOL!)

And it wasn't just any birthday either.  H man turned 13! It's official, I have a teenager.  Surely, I can't be that old!  He is ecstatic to be an official teen.  Tonight J took him to our church gym to workout since 13 is the age restriction on the weight room.  It was a sort of "rite of passage". 

We kept the celebration simple this year. We opened gifts last night because H was about to die to do so.  We knew if we didn't he would be waking us up at 5 am to open them.  The weather has been extremely cold for December in the south so we didn't want to get Miss Priss out anymore than necessary.  So, J picked up some Conestoga steaks on the way home.  Yummy!  We will celebrate with my family sometime in the next week.

We have another special day this weekend. We will celebrate our 17th anniversary on Saturday!  I am truely blessed beyond measure!
