The Extremely Long Boring Post explaining why I haven't Blogged!

Well, I'm not sure why exactly other than being super busy and when I have contemplated a post I'm completely blank. My days consist of changing poopy diapers and wiping a snotty nose.  Do you really want to hear about that?  NO!  LOL!  Of course, lots more is going on than that, but at the end of they day, that's about all I feel that I have accomplished.

Actually, I have been doing lots of things. Last year I quit my side business of monogramming and embroidery just before Pumpkin was born. I just didn't think I could keep up with it all.  Over the past few months I have contemplated starting up again. I will no longer be home schooling Bubba. He will be attending a local Christian School this fall. So a few weeks ago, I took the plunge and started back again.  It amazes me how much I have done already in the last 3 weeks or so.  Here are a few projects I completed.

July proved to be very full for Bubba. He once again participated in a local mission project for one week along with about 1000 other youth.  Talk about a major impact on our community.  These teens camped out in several of our local churches for the week. They worked in one of four types of different ministry teams - Construction, Social Ministry, Sports Camps or Vacation Bible School.  Bubba coached kids in Basketball in one of the 11 sports camps that were held in our local area.  During the day they spent time with their ministry team doing Bible study as well as their particular camp / project.  In the evenings they had corporate worship will all participants.  Bubba absolutely LOVES this mission project.  He is already talking about next year!  My heart swells to see him so enthusiastic about being a servant and sharing the love of Christ with others!

Bubba has also been learning to play the bass gutiar with our youth praise band. He is super excited that he will soon be helping lead in worship for the weekly youth services on Wednesday nights.  He had to write out his testimony for the praise band leader.  When I read it, I cried. He is such a sweet young man with a heart for the Lord.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for him.

This weekend he travelled with our youth group to a MLB baseball game and an afternoon of Whitewater Rafting.  I wasn't sure how he would like the rafting, as he is my cautious child.  A few weeks ago a friend wanted him to go knee-boarding and his response was "Don't you think that's a little extreme?!" That same friend couldn't believe he wanted to go rafting.  He seemed to have enjoyed it.  I have a feeling if he had gone overboard, that would have been the end of it for him.  But he admitted that it wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be.

Pumpkin is 9 months old today! Two weeks ago I was sure that she had an ear infection.  A trip to the pediatrician and $35 later I learned she was completely fine.  I am so thankful that  she has not had an ear infection yet!  Bubba had tubes by this age. At that visit she was 20 lbs.  We have her 9 month check up later this week. She is crawling, pulling up and cruising around things as she holds on. Walking is in her near future, I'm afraid. Her 3rd tooth came in this week as well.

We started swim lessons with her last week. I found someone local who would work with her individually. Pumpkin loves the water. She will put her face down in the water all on her own sometimes. It amazes me how natural it is to a baby. I hope to get some pictures and video this week!

Proof that she loves the water....

Pure joy!

Her response to me telling her no mam! LOL
